If you’re intrigued by using hand tools for woodworking but don’t know how to get started, or if you’re an experienced power tool user who wants to expand your repertoire of skills, this free class is for you. Joel Moskowitz will guide you through the basic operations in an unplugged shop, looking at common operations and the tools used to perform them.
What tools are used for making straight cuts? Curves? How do you refine an edge by hand with rasps? What tools are used for cutting joints? How are surfaces prepared for finishing? These and other questions will be answered in the class.
You’ll have the opportunity to play with our own Gramercy Tools and BT&C saws (manufactured right here at TFWW!), and get a chance to demo other traditional and artisanal makers from the US, Europe and Asia. Don’t let the lack of electricity stifle your creativity!
Note: This free class is an introduction only. Let us show you the basics of using beautiful, simple, precision tools. No experience necessary.
